The Spanish Digital Nomad Visa allows non-EU citizens to live in Spain while working remotely for foreign companies or international clients. It’s an ideal option for remote workers, freelancers, and entrepreneurs seeking to live and work legally in Spain.

  • Financial Documentation

    Proof of Income:
    Demonstrate a monthly income of at least €2,646 (200% of the Spanish minimum wage). This can be evidenced through work contracts, employer letters, invoices (for freelancers), and corresponding bank statements.

    Financial Requirements for Family Members:   

               – Spouse: Additional €993 per month (75% of the Spanish minimum wage).
               – Child: Additional €331 per month (25% of the Spanish minimum wage).

    For a family of three (main applicant, spouse, and one child), the total minimum income required is €4,331 per month before taxes.

  • Employment Proof

    Remote Work Arrangement:
    Provide an employment contract or, for freelancers, evidence of ongoing remote work for foreign companies. The employing company should have been operational for more than one year.

  • Professional Qualifications

    Qualifications:
    Possess a relevant diploma or have at least three years of professional experience in your field.

  • Legal and Compliance Documents

    Criminal Record:
    Present a clean criminal record certificate from your country of residence, translated into Spanish and apostilled.

    Legal Translations:
    Any foreign documents must be translated by a sworn Spanish translator (traductor jurado).

  • Health Insurance

    Obtain comprehensive private health insurance with full coverage in Spain. The policy must offer full coverage (no co-payments or deductibles) and ideally be valid for 12 months or more.

  • Accommodation in Spain

    Provide evidence of accommodation in Spain, such as a rental contract, property deed, or confirmed booking (e.g., Airbnb or hotel).

  • Additional Supporting Documents
    •  Completed visa application form (national visa, not Schengen).
    •  Valid passport (with at least 12 months of validity).
    •  Recent passport-sized photos (meeting Spanish visa photo standards).
    •  Curriculum Vitae (CV) detailing educational and professional background.
    •  Statement of purpose or cover letter explaining your intent to live and work remotely in Spain.
